No. These are insulation-displacement connectors (IDC). The internal metal blades are designed to pierce the insulation and create a secure contact automatically when you snap the connector shut.
These are rated for low-voltage applications up to 300V and a maximum current of 10A. They are ideal for automotive, marine, landscape lighting, and small household electronics.
Installation is simple and requires only a pair of standard pliers. Once the wires are inserted into the slots, use the pliers to press the cap down until the locking buckle clicks into place.
