Propane Tank Gauge Level Indicator for 5-40lb Tanks with QCC1/Type Connection

Key Features

  • Integrated pressure gauge for real-time monitoring of propane fuel levels.
  • Constructed from solid brass for durability and resistance to weather and corrosion.
  • Color-coded dial provides visual indication of gas levels (Low, Gas, Refill).
  • Integrated leak detection functionality to monitor for pressure loss.
  • Tool-free installation design for quick attachment to standard tanks.

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Universal replacement for standard QCC1 / Type 1 propane tank gauges.
  • Compatible with standard propane cylinder connection interfaces.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Fits propane tanks ranging from 5lb to 40lb capacity.
  • Compatible with all appliances utilizing a standard QCC1 / Type 1 connection.
  • Suitable for use with BBQ grills, RV campers, patio heaters, fire pits, and camping stoves.

When to Replace

  • Replace if the dial fails to register pressure when the tank valve is open.
  • Replace if there is visible physical damage to the brass housing or threading.
  • Replace if the internal seal is worn or damaged, preventing a secure, airtight connection.
  • Replace if the unit fails to hold pressure or exhibits signs of gas leakage at the connection points.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the propane tank valve is closed completely before installation or removal.
  • Hand-tighten the gauge clockwise onto the tank valve; do not overtighten with tools to avoid damaging the internal O-ring.
  • Slowly open the propane tank valve to allow pressure to equalize within the gauge.
  • Perform a leak test using a soapy water solution at all connection points after installation.
  • If the gauge shows low pressure immediately, verify the connection is seated correctly and the tank valve is fully open.

FAQ

This gauge is designed for standard propane cylinders ranging from 5lb to 40lb. It features a QCC1/Type 1 connection, making it compatible with most modern RVs, campers, BBQ gas grills, portable heaters, and fire pits that utilize this standard fitting.
The gauge uses a pressure-sensitive dial to provide a visual reading. The green zone indicates a safe, full level; the yellow zone indicates that the propane level is low and you should prepare to refill; and the red zone indicates that the tank is nearly empty.
The gauge measures pressure, not liquid volume. Because propane remains at a constant pressure until the liquid is almost entirely depleted, the needle will stay in the green zone for most of the tank's life. It will move into the yellow and red zones only when the liquid propane is running low and the pressure begins to drop.
No tools are required. The gauge is designed for hand-tightening. Simply screw the gauge onto your propane tank's QCC1 valve by hand, then attach your appliance's regulator hose to the other end of the gauge. Ensure all connections are snug to prevent leaks.
First, ensure the valve on your propane tank is fully opened. If the valve is open and the needle remains at zero, check that the connection is tight and that there are no obstructions in the hose or regulator. If you have recently connected the gauge, ensure the excess flow safety device in the tank valve has been properly reset by turning the tank valve on slowly.
Yes, this gauge is designed to remain installed between the tank valve and the regulator. It is built to withstand outdoor conditions, but it is good practice to periodically check the connection for any signs of wear or debris.
