FAQ

The most common symptom is a dryer that runs but fails to produce heat. Often, the dryer will start and tumble normally, but the burner will not ignite. If you notice the dryer heats for a short time and then stops heating, or if you can hear the igniter glow but the gas valve never opens to produce a flame, the coils are likely failing.
This set replaces OEM part numbers W10328463, W10273784, W10295524, WPW10328463, and W10311021. It is compatible with gas dryers manufactured under the Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, Amana, Crosley, Estate, Inglis, and Roper brands.
The kit includes two coils: a 3-prong boost/hold coil and a 2-prong secondary coil. These coils work together to open the gas valve ports. When the dryer control board signals for heat, the coils receive an electrical charge to open the valves, allowing gas to flow to the burner assembly.
Installation is generally straightforward and typically takes about 20 to 30 minutes. You will primarily need a screwdriver (usually a 1/4-inch nut driver or a multi-bit screwdriver) to remove the dryer's front or access panel. Always ensure the dryer is unplugged and the gas supply is turned off before beginning the repair.
If the dryer still does not heat after installing new coils, check the igniter for continuity, as a burnt-out igniter will prevent the gas valve from opening. Additionally, inspect the thermal fuse, the flame sensor, and the high-limit thermostat for continuity, as any of these components can interrupt the heating circuit.
